Account Deletion
You can delete your Cosmos account at any time. The steps and the scope of data deletion are described below.
1. Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Cosmos app and tap the "Settings" tab.
- Tap "Delete account" at the bottom of the Settings screen.
- Follow the guide, review what will be deleted, and confirm.
If you have a request in progress or an unsettled payment, deletion becomes available after it is completed and settled.
2. If you cannot access the app (lost device, already uninstalled, etc.)
If you cannot access the app, contact us via the contact form on the top page from the email address you registered with, stating "account deletion request". After verifying your identity, our operators will delete the account for you.
What is deleted and what is retained
- As soon as the deletion request is made, the account is deactivated and is no longer visible to other users.
- Your profile (name, address, phone number, gender, etc.) and your identity face photo are deleted. The face photo is removed from storage immediately.
- We ask Stripe to redact the information you submitted for identity verification (Stripe Identity).
- To allow recovery from accidental deletion, data is anonymized after a 30-day grace period. During the grace period you can restore the account by signing in to the app again.
- Transaction records (payment and payout history) that we are legally required to keep are retained for the statutory period in anonymized form.
